The difference is the solid content in the formulation. The higher the solid content the more durable the floor polish. It would last longer before you have to strip and re-seal the floor. With a lower solid content, you would have to put more coats of polish on the floor to obtain the same results as with a higher content floor polish.
The purpose of an acrylic polish is mainly to protect the floor and to save you money by using less polish. Generally, floor surface that require a sealer are very porous. When not using a sealer, you end up using a lot more polish than normally. It also becomes problematic when stripping the porous floor for you need the get all the stripping solution out of the porous surfaces. When applying an acrylic floor sealer, the normal ammoniated and non-ammoniated strippers can’t strip the acrylic sealer. You require a solvent stripper to strip an acrylic floor sealer. When the floor is coated with an acrylic sealer not only does it protect the floor against stains, scuff marks, but also wear and tear in general. When maintaining your floors, you would also use a lot less polish to achieve the perfect finish.
Wizard Mop & Buff contains more wax than Wizard Spray Buff and is used in areas where no scrubbing machines can operate or the client don’t have the luxury of owning one. Wizard Spray Buff is used in conjunction with a scrubbing machine or a burnishing machine to restore scratch marks and remove scuff marks while revitalizing the floor to its original shine.
Wizard Floor Maintainer was specially formulated to be used on polished floors for the removal of dirt mild grease and grime. It has a pH7 and will do no harm to the polish layers. When using ammoniated or solvent base all-purpose cleaners the pH ranges from pH9 – 13. These products contain raw materials that will soften and strip the polish layers over time. It will reduce the durability and lifespan costing you more money to maintain your floors.
A scrubbing machine is used to strip old polish from floors by using a hard or black scrubbing pad. A scrubbing machine’s speed will normally vary from 175 RPM to 600 RPM where as for a burnishing machine the speed of the machine can range from 1000RPM to 2000RPM and is mainly used for polishing and restoring high gloss on floors.
Both strippers can be used on all floors for the stripping of floor polish. Normally the ammoniated stripper is used in well-ventilated areas such as schools, public halls and basically anywhere where the smell of ammonia wont effect anybody. The non-ammoniated stripper is normally used at hospitals, frail care centers, cresses where it is important not to have the pungent odour of ammonia.
Both products have a pH13 which is high in alkali for the ease of grease, dirt and grime removal. The Wizard Floorkleen Powder is used in areas such as food processing plants, wine and dairy farms, where the Wizard Floorkleen Yellow contains Sodium Hydroxide for heavy duty cleaning and degreasing in areas such as mechanical workshops, engineering factories, forecourt for the removing of oil and diesel spills and much more.
You can use the Wizard Spray Buff product diluted in a calibrated spray bottle. Spray directly on the floor while polishing with a slow speed scrubbing machine using a red or white floor pad. This will remove all black heel scuff marks and dirt, replacing them with a brilliant shine that will restore the polished floor to its original gloss finish.
When a floor is dull it doesn’t mean there is something wrong with the polish even though it always gets the blame. The most important job of a successful strip and seal procedure is the preparation. Always start off with clean equipment and keep it clean throughout the complete job. When stripping the floor make sure all the grease, grime and all the previous polish layers are removed before going to the next step. If grease and grime is left behind it will cause sticky floors and dull spots. Make sure when you strip the floors that you rinse the floor properly. If a lot of stripper solution was used it is recommended to rinse three times before applying the firs coat of polish. Make sure that the floor is properly dry before applying the first coat of polish and give adequate time to dry before applying the second and third coat. Always stick to the basics for that showroom finish.
The saying goes don’t work hard, work smart. Let the chemical do the job for you. When a good stripper is applied on a floor and adequate time is given to penetrate and to disintegrate the polish layers, you would hardly need a lot of scrubbing. If the floor had a lot of buildup more scrubbing would be required with a slow speed scrubbing machine. A good, maintained floor would just require a quality stripping solution with adequate time to break down polish layers and then two rinse cycles using a vacuum to suck up the striped residue. So, don’t sacrifice quality for cost, use only the best by using Wizard Magical Floorcare Products.
